Green Run 2015 7.5KM
The Caribbean Coastal Area Management Foundation (C-CAM) will be hosting its 2nd Annual Green Run on June 21, 2015. The Green Run is the only event of its kind on Jamaica’s South Coast celebrating Earth Day and the declaration of the Portland Bight Protected Area (PBPA) in 1999. It is extremely important for us as Jamaicans to show support for Protected Areas as they are vital in the preservation of our fragile natural resources. The PBPA spans 1,876 sq.km (land and sea) and contains many of Jamaica’s endemic species some of which are endangered.
This 7.5KM Run will be from the Pawsey Park, Lionel Town to Portland Cottage, Clarendon followed immediately by an Award Ceremony and Concert. Last year, runners took to the streets proudly and we intend to increase the numbers this year so please feel free to join us!!
